Isn’t that the crux of it though? These Silicon Valley guys convince themselves they’re still those scrappy nerds working in their garages. To them, they’re still the underdogs, which absolves them of the very real responsibility they have to their employees and the economy. They don’t want to be reminded of their massive success.
