if all the liberals who constantly condescend to people about voting took all that energy and put it towards combating voter disenfranchisement we might actually get somewhere but instead people wanna pretend like the stupid masses just dont know how important voting is as opposed to you know, voter id laws being passed in conjunction with closing dmvs, voter rolls being purged in democratic counties, limiting early voting in urban areas, fucking gerrymandering and all. no the biggest problem is that these dummies dont know any better but my patronizing social media post sure will change that!

this isnt like directed at people encouraging others to register to vote or sharing info about absentee ballots fyi its about the eye bleeding experience of seeing ppl still aggressively preaching about how “if all those whiny babies hadnt not voted in 2016 we wouldnt have trump so dont screw it up again!” like every political analyst on both sides and at all levels have all said that setting aside literally everything else, including hackers trying to rig the election, trump and the republicans won because of gerrymandering and voter suppression.

if you do believe in the electoral system or even just in like the concept of elections your goal should be to make tangible real efforts to make sure everyone can actually vote cuz theres a lot of eligible voters and generally just smart good people who would love to make a difference and get involved w politics but they cant because of systemic barriers that very few people are doing anything about.
